Banking Trade Associations to Merge

The memberships of American Bankers Association and Americas Community Bankers still need to vote this summer on a proposed merger of the banking trade groups. But if both sides agree to combine their forces, they will become one of Washingtons largest trade associations and will dramatically expand the power of the banking lobby. Both groups say they hope to complete the proposed merger by November. Merger talks between the two groups have started and stalled several times before.
